Photoshop lesson No 1 - Clean Black and White

We have the original - not the best image of this model to start with but lets see... This is what a beginner may do - simply desaturate. And you are left with a "muddy" BW conversion. Not great.

Rather do a proper conversion using grayscale, levels and finally, lightened using curves, cropped and sharpened.
